The meeting was held at the San Jacinto Monument in conjunction with the Special Interest Fords of the 50's Car Club's Show. There were approximately 125 cars there. Woo Hoo! We had a great spot, too, just to the right as you enter the show area. Kathy started cookin' some dogs around 11:30 a.m., and we had our meeting while eating them dogs. We were happy to see one of our newest members, Karen Skelding, show up, too. We also had a potential member bring his 1964 Cutlass convertible. You can see photos of our fun in the Photo Gallery section. At 2 p.m. the Special Interest Fords of the 50's Car Club gave out door prizes which I think our club members got a lot of them. They also handed out seven awards. The Olds Club received an award for having the most cars from a car club at the show, thirteen, and Don Pylant received a "One of Six" award for his '48 Olds. Our next Olds Club meeting will be on April 21st, and it's a tour to the Cotton Gin Festival in Burton, Texas. We will be meeting at Prosperity Bank, Barker Cypress exit off of 290 West at 8:00 a.m. I think the plan was to be in the parade, too, so be prompt if you want to tag along with us and practice on your parade wave.
